My background is in journalism and tourism, and without tourism, I would not define my approach to journalism the way I do today. My European roots brought me to Europe, and eventually to Brussels, where my passion for journalism found its place. My Latin American roots draw me to stories that cover systemic inequalities, freedom of speech, Indigenous communities, environment, and health.

Here in Europe, I have also developed a passion for science, learning that at its core, science is about constantly forming new hypotheses. As a journalist, I see my work in a similar light: a way of constantly questioning, testing, and shaping a path towards the truth.

Having lived across several countries (Venezuela, Panama, Spain, Australia, and Belgium), I have gained real experience in stakeholder and cross-cultural communication, along with a deep appreciation for different cultures, environments, and societies. I tend to work on several projects at once, that is how I function, and I get fully invested in each one. A bit of yoga or a good matcha usually helps me keep up with the pace. I have accepted that is just who I am.

Between tracing mercury contamination in the Amazon and asking a one-hundred-year-old Belgian what keeps them going, I have learned that curiosity does not stay in one lane, and neither do I.
